Punto y Coma, stage humor as its best.

Punto y Coma, stage humor as its best.

In Cuba humor in artistic manifestations is a tradition, which corresponds to our identity. You cannot understood a Cuban without humor, but if you put together laughter and thinking, getting to reflexion and constructive criticism, comes out "Punto y Coma" ("Dot and Comma"), which is a humorist formation founded and loved by the audience for more than 15 years.

Without always being understood and without having been invited to the most popular TV shows, the formation has developed its career in humorist centers, theater and by touring the entire country, with performances where they combine acting, music and imitation with sharp texts and parodies reflecting the social reality as incisive reporters of their time.

Humor (which is something very serious) must be clear, pass through the human being and soak it, in order to make it a better person with all his "gods and demons", because - as our universal poet José Martí has pointed out more than once: Humor is "a whip with bells on its end".

This autodidactic formation of unique style includes the charm of authentic artists who win the audience at whatever show they do, through playing and making fun of it, without becoming disrespectful they way many humorists do these days.

Many great humorists have passed through "Punto y Coma" such as Osvaldo Doimeadios and Omar Franco as well as outstanding musicians such as David Blanco Club Habana   . During the national tour and summer activities they have gained a large audience, currently performing Tuesdays and Thursdays at "El cocodrilo" and "Amelia". Each Wednesday night they perform at "3ra y 8" and Fridays at the prestigious "Club Habana" located in the Playa neighborhood of the capital.

Dot and coma are two very helpful punctuation signs that are also associated with great moments of pleasant humor and reflexion.
