Between October 28th and November 6th the Cuban capital will be hosting the XIV Festival Internacional de Teatro (XIV International Theater Festival), an event that reaches more people every year.
17 countries will be represented in the festival which will show the audience the prevailing trends of contemporary theater with proposal of "avant-garde, conceptionally and formally" as the organizing staff of the festival is pointing out.
28 Cuban groups along with formations from Argentina, Germany, Spain, United States, Slovenia, France, Ecuador, Finland, Greece and Turkey and other countries will animate the stages of Havana with their interesting performances; most likely the North American one will be unforgettable, as the "Ambassadors from Broadway" will stage a version of these classic and popular musical themes which have been presented during the past 50 years on the most famous New Yorker stage.
The program of the festival will stage 37 performances; from Cuba great works as "La gran tirana", "Desnudes", "Cubalandia", "La Legionaria" and "Noche de Reyes" to mention only a few. "La razón blindada", "Las pericas", and "Lilith en el espejo" are other performances which will be performed by groups from Mexico, Ecuador and Germany.
The theoretical space "Encuentro de la palabra", a forum about women in theater and an exhibition about the characterization of characters from the wardrobe, are other attractions taking part in the XIV Festival which has awakened the interest of an audience always eager to enjoy good theater, above all the one which brings out the direct and multiple debate between human beings and deals with social complexity.
The brilliant closing ceremony of one of the most important Cuban events of its kind will be hold by the dance company of the disappeared Spanish dancer Antonio Gades, treating the audience with a spectacle that includes the anthological piece "Bodas de sangre".
