This young and beautiful lady from Havana, only 26 years old, has been blessed with lots of success since the start of her career 10 years ago. It’s not easy to describe what Diana combines: a gifted, warm, sexy, skilled voice combined with a provocative, inspiring, competed appearance.
I think that a big part of her success is based on her solid artistic education in music and ballet, singing in various choirs, and her experience as vocalist of the band Síntesis. Her quality and versatility allowed her to work with important personalities of Cuban music, like Amaury Gutiérrez, Kumar, Carlos Varela, David Torrens and Omara Portuondo, to mention only a few.
Diana Fuentes is not only a successful singer of various styles (ballades, feeling, bolero, pop, hip-hop funk); she also reached a high level as composer and actress. She received the Gran Premio de Adolfo Guzmán del 2007 for the interpretation of the song "Decirte cosas de amor" by Roberto Novo with some arrangements from the maestro Guido López Gavilán. In the same year she was also awarded the Premios Lucas in the categories of female video and new artist for her first video clip, featuring a song Diana wrote herself, "Música de Fondo".
She has participated in 15 recording projects; two of them have been nominated for the Grammy Latino. Her first record as solo artist,
"Amargo pero dulce", was produced by Descemer Bueno (the legendary member of the band Yerbabuena).
The door of Cuban music has been opened widely for Diana Fuentes, who captivates those listening to her vocal skills, intense liveliness and her angelic attraction of a sweet, soft, sensual and beautiful woman.
