This place doesn´t appear on lists of the supposedly best restaurants in Havana, but in my opinion, it should.

Perhaps the reason it´s not, is because of a certain geographic fatalism, as it is within 60 meters of the emblematic Floridita Restaurant, which is like a black hole, absorbing customers and grabbing their full attention, leaving La Piña de Plata (The Silver Pineapple) unnoticed.

It should be said that their menu has a large variety of dishes, well seasoned, presented and served; and the prices are very appealing and competitive. Among their dishes, I´d like to recommend one inspired from the sea, the "El Marino," (The Sailor) which has an excellent presentation, is very tasty and priced at $6.95 CUC.

I generally see many tourists entering La Piña de Plata as they´re finishing up their journey down Obispo Street, from Plaza de Armas to the the intersection with Egido. As many arrive hungry and thirsty to that spot, this restaurant´s sign and entryway is somewhat of a savior. Though it´s doesn´t have the looks of its neighboring Floridita, this restaurant has its own charms.

Those working there, whether in the kitchen, lounge or bar, are attentive and efficient, making for a nice visit to this place that I´m sure will please you and leave you satisfied.
