This is the experience one gets when they visit the National Aquarium (Acuario Nacional de Cuba), a scientific facility specializing in the investigation and the environmental education. Located in Havana’s Playa sector and has been operating for 49 years, this facility includes many interesting attractions that can be enjoyed all year round.

One exhibition that is very popular is that of the bottlenose dolphins; in which eight dolphins perform for 200 onlookers.

The trainers of these magnificent mammals deservedly so were awarded by the International Association of Marine Animal Trainers in 1999 for the aquatic ballet performed by the dolphins.

Additionally the National Aquarium has sea lion exhibitions in front of 1000 spectators. Continually the aquarium pursues the finest ecologists and uses the institutions resources to educate children as well as adults on the importance of protecting the environment.
