Salon Rosado at Tropical
Good news for lovers of good music and dance in Havana: the Salon Rosado at Tropical "Benny More" has just reopened. The Salon just underwent a major capital restoration and now has more up-to-date sound and lighting systems.
There are also now bigger and better dining areas. Juana Bacallao, a legend of Cuban song and dance, performed at the reopening ceremony with her group Tiembla Tierra. Also performing that night were Adalberto Alvarez, AKA “The Gentleman of the Son”, who performed songs from his newest album, “El son de Altura”. He also christened the new Salon the "Palace of the Dancer".
The Salon Rosado at La Tropical has historically been one of the preferred places for dancers, where orchestras debut new numbers, a place to gage how dancers will accept and react to new music. Here, dancers come to try new steps and enjoy authentic "Cubanness".
Now you know- the newly christened "Palace of the Dancer" is once again open for the enjoyment of dancers in Havana.
