Ivette owns a beautiful voice
Although she started her career relatively late, and without formal music training, Ivette Cepeda in recent years has been taking over the city's music scene, every day gaining more fans with her interpretive form, and has managed only with her net attributes and without the usual media coverage that promotes an artist.
Cepeda has an in-tune and beautiful voice with infinite tones; and also, masterful phrasing and precise, polished dictation. Her repertoire is a combination of well-known successes such as Serrat, Sabina, Olga Navarro, Miguel Matamoros, Tony Pinelli, Agustín Lara, Carlos Varela, Vinicius de Moraes, Pablo Milanés, Alberto Vera, and Silvio Rodríguez, who, among others, reflect on subjects such as passion, loneliness, despair and joy, which Cepeda makes her own with her unique style of interpretation.
Through her virtues, which have enabled her well-deserved artistic advancement, Cepeda has mastered the scene and communication with an audience that frequent night centers and who don´t always show adequate respect nor education. She has a growing recognition by those enjoying her excellent performances, so much so that followers even pursue her at the One-Eyed Cat Concert Café or at the Tocororo Restaurant.
Cepeda manages to create that singular atmosphere, rapport and magic communication of the 60´s, such as masters Pico Blanco and other prominent figures like Ellen Bourke, Moraima Secada, José Antonio Méndez and Omara Portuondo.
When you see this name in the concert listings or on a Havanian marquee, you must not miss this phenonomial musician´s performance.
