Cuban music at The Sauce
Every night in this cultural recreational space, important Cuban musicians play. You can also eat, drink and enjoy the arts here, all at a reasonable price.
Their stage systematically presents musicians such as Raúl Torres, the duo, Buena Fé, Diana Fuentes, Kelvis Ochoa, David Torrens and Descemer Bueno among others.
In January there were nightly performances from the troubadour Tony Avila, who livened up the night with his charisma, inspiring lyrics and his trusty guitar. Also animated was local singer/songwriter Polito Ibañez, who stands out as part of the contemporary movement known as "novísima trova," which has many followers, especially among Cuban youth due to his subjects marked intentions and honesty.
For the not-so-young, I recommend Sunday afternoons at El Sauce, which hosts a very unique "Discotemba" (similar to a Discotheque, however with an older crowd and classic music), with a name quite suggestive and provocative, "The Melancholy Machine," inspired and driven by excellent actor, Luis Alberto Garcia, and witty singer Frank Delgado.
