José Luis Cortés
The forerunner of Timba, NG La Band and their leader José Luis Cortés, "El Tosco," will hold four concerts in Miramar during the month of September. One will be at the Casa de la Música and two in the piano-bar annex "El Diablo Tun Tun."
NG La Banda´s Timba consists of an extensive execution of keyboards, percussion (congas, pails and drums) as well as brass (especially the trumpet and trombone), a Timba that is appreciated by dancers everywhere. Also, their lyrics greatly contribute to their identification with the public.
NG La Banda, with their best Timba repertoire, will perform in "El Diablo Tun Tun" on 22 September starting at 11 p.m. until 3 a.m. On the 16 and 23 September, they´ll be on stage at "Casa de la Música de Miramar." Both places are famous centers that always have top artists, and in my opinion, they´re two of the best in Havana for partying and dancing in the favorable environment of the best Cuban music.
To accompany the fun with a drink, both places have affordable prices on both national and imported beers as well as light and vintage rums, the classic cocktail. All shows cost $15.00 CUC.
