Club Tikoa
This club is located in the basement of a building on 23rd St., on the corner of N St., on the famous Havana Rampa, and was very popular in years past, until 1968, when it was closed as part of the badly named “Revolutionary Offensive" of the same year.
It has since reopened, and is open every day. From 4:00 to 8:00pm, the Club offers kids a special entry for those over 18, while every Saturday it’s open to those 16 and older.
The music played on these nights tends to be geared to this younger age group.
The reasonable prices, along with its location near several government ministries, TV and radio studios, and the offices of Prensa Latina, make Tikoa an ideal place to pop in and have a drink, relax a bit, and even enjoy a romantic date (the bar is dimly lit…).
