Seafood soup
I confess, it had been a long time since I last visited this place, but with the intentions of staying up-to-date and giving objective commentaries, I went this past Monday, where to my complete surprise, it was full of nationals at around 2:30 p.m.
Through looking around, investigating, conversing and and checking out the menu, I found the reason: the whole atmosphere is geared toward sports, which the majority of Cubans love, particularly baseball, soccer and basketball.
This place is decorated with images of great athletes, trophies and personal objects from many national outstanding figures, who have excelled on the island and abroad, creating a very attractive environment for those who enjoy sports.
Carefully reading the menu, I can tell you there is something for everyone. There are dishes at $15 CUC, such as "Grillada Mar y Tierra" (Surf and Turf) and the "Cazuela de mariscos" (Seafood soup). Also at $12 CUC, two servings of a delicious paella, and at $6 CUC, breaded fish fillets and others, made with chicken or hamburgers, between $2 and $3 CUC. And like a good sports restaurant, the dishes are named after terms like "home run," "hit", "bunt," etc., achieving a curious and sympathetic affinity between the product and sports jargon.
Another favorable point about this place is its reliability, speed and friendly service, always attentive to the clientele´s diverse needs. With all of that, this place deserves to be included on the list of possible Havana spots for good eats when visiting the capital.
