Polinesia Restaurant

Polinesia Restaurant

This restaurant is a Havana classic, and since it opened in 1958 under the name of Trader Vic's, it's always been very popular, both among Cubans and tourists alike.

For those of us who've been regulars since it opened 52 years ago, we've been amazed that Polinesia Restaurant has been able to conserve the atmosphere and decoration typical of Polynesia, like wood sculptures, lamps, woven tapestries, percussion instruments, and bamboo, which, along with the dim lighting, contribute to a truly Polynesian setting.

The restaurant is best known for its Asian-inspired dishes, like fried rice, Polynesian-style chicken, pork and chicken Chow Mein. There is also beef, fish and seafood, all with Asian flavor, and all at very reasonable prices.

Address: Calle 23 on the corner of L and M, Vedado.
