Meat canolies, one of many dishes offered at Mi Jardin.
Without a doubt, this restaurant (private) is considered among the best in Havana.
People have noted everything from the friendliness of the staff and valet parking for car security, to the simply exeptional chef, whose food is outside of the norm, yet remains familiar. The surroundings are qually pleasant, and the garden, after which the restaurant is named, is worth seeing.
As for the cuisine, I know no other place in the city that prepares typical Mexican food like this, whether it be tacos, burritos or chicken in mole sauce or with jalapeños, just to mention of few of many dishes on their menu. The menu also offers Cuban dishes such as Creole, which is mainly comprised of pork, mutton (sheep), chicken or fish, and with equal expertise, Italian specialties.
Prices range around the middle, as most dishes are in the vicinity of 7 or 8 CUC ($7 - 8 USD), however those including fish can reach up to 10 CUC ($10 USD).
The location is very good and close to major hotels in the Playa area. It´s open from 12 a.m. to 12 p.m.
To those who visit Havana, I strongly recommend this restaurant.
