Where else but in Havana could you find the highest number of stores where you can buy Cuban cigars, of every brand and make imaginable?
There are over 30 locations to buy cigars in Havana, but I’d like to speak to you about a certain shopping center, because after all, who said good food and good cigars don’t go together?
The Casa del Habano in Miramar, or as many people know it, La Casita de 16 (because it’s at the intersection of Quinta Avenida and calle 16, in the town of Playa) is the best place in this city to enjoy a good meal, followed by an excellent cigar. The restaurant specializes in creole food and international cuisine. It’s characterized by its intimate ambience and attentive service by all employees.
It has several affordable offerings, with dishes like beef, pork and poultry. But the most popular is the shrimp, the different meals with a fish base, the always enjoyable Surf and Turf, the Pan, the lobster, and the paella, which feeds six people.
The restaurant of the Casa del Habano in Miramar also has several banquet halls available for private dinners or business meetings, along with a bar that has a wide selection of cigars and drinks of all sorts, especially the best Cuban rums.
Wednesday to Sunday the trio Los Dinos performs a live show, and besides putting on a good show, they also take audience requests. Diners can purchase cigars at any time during service hours (12-12), and can enjoy them on site, as well as purchase cigar accessories and publications.
Famous Cuban brands such as Partagas, Hoyo de Monterrey, Ramon Allones, Bolivar, Alejandro Robaina and Cohiba, to mention a few, are all available. You can buy them by box or individually, as well as in mini form.
